Angela Noble

Dancing has always been part of Angela’s life from her early years at ballet classes she went on to explore many forms before falling in love with Tribal Style belly dance. She has travelled extensively to pursue her passion, seek training, gain experience and broaden her knowledge of the dance. She has gained teacher certification in both ATS®and Gypsy Caravan Tribal Style Bellydance®.

Tribe Zuza is Angela’s business, set up in 2005, offering tuition, performance, holidays and costuming. She iscurrently teaching 11 regular weekly classes in the North East of England as well as at festivals across the UK and internationally. Tribe Zuza hosts the longest running UK Tribal event, Tribal Goddess, in its 12th successful year.

Her first job was as a Wardrobe Mistress in the Theatre, from there she went on to lecture in textiles. Costuming was certainly part of the attraction to the dance. The idea of a costume evolving appealed to her hunter gatherer nature, going out and searching for pieces and combining them to make something beautiful. Each element has its own story, inspiration, origins and evolution.

This wonderful improvised dance has become a huge part of her life and she hopes that through her teaching she can encourage others on their own dance journeys.

Jo Taylor
Jo discovered ATS in 2008 and was immediately struck by the power and beauty of the dance style. She had no idea that learning to dance would also inspire a passion for textiles, but as she began to search for costuming she became intrigued by the beautiful embroidered pieces and the stories behind them. She now is a collector of textiles and has taught workshops on embroidery techniques and the symbolism of motifs.
A member of the International Feltmakers Association, Jo spends many a happy hour dyeing her own fabrics and fibres for use in her felting. The traditional techniques and dyes of Asia and Africa inform her work. Jo also spins, weaves and crochets using her hand spun yarns. She is a self confessed textile addict and spends too much on fabric and fluff.
Recently moved to Cornwall, Jo is currently setting up a home studio where she will offer workshops and retreats for individuals and small groups.

Jacqui Spiers – Sirocco Tribal, Sister Studio

Jacqui’s Bellydance journey started back in 1997 inspired by Egyptian Bellydance and a love for traditional Baladi with its simple steps and earthy grounded movements.
A move to Devon in 1999 led to teaching many weekly Bellydance classes and also workshops for Devon Arts Initiative In Schools and Plymouth Religious & Cultural Centre, as well as working as a Complimentary Therapist.
Her first “real life” encounter with ATS was whilst attending Majma Dance Festival at Glastonbury in 2001 and being totally mesmerized watching a solo performance by Tina Martinez. Having signed up for Tina’s workshops over the weekend the seed was then planted and on returning home Jacqui was inspired to learn and find out more about FCBD and ATS.
Jacqui became a Sister Studio after taking GS and TT with Carolena and Megha at Glastonbury in 2008 and again two years later in San Francisco.  More recently she undertook Technique for Teachers 4 Day Intensive at Tiverton, Devon in 2016. Currently she is teaching weekly classes in Launceston, Cornwall and also at Exeter alongside Kelley Beeston, who is a dear friend, dance partner and constant source of ATS inspiration and knowledge. Jacqui is also one of the ‘Kalashies’ in Kelley’s performance troupe Kalash Tribal.

“For me there is something magical about ATS, the connection, friendship, transformation of dancers and of course the joy of Being In the Moment when we all come together to dance! It’s Magic! ”  –  Jacqui

Kelley Beeston – Kalash Tribal, SSCE Instructor

Oasis is a much-loved event in the tribal calendar providing bimonthly structured workshops with tuition from an experienced, dedicated, warm and friendly teacher. Over the years Kelley has nurtured a growing tribal family who unite as “Oasis Tribal” to perform together.
Her passion radiates through when performing with her dance troupe, Kalash Tribal, in her weekly classes and workshops both at home and abroad, and for her there is something magical and empowering about ATS® which she absolutely loves to share.
Based in SW England Kelley regularly trains at the ‘mothership’ – the FatChanceBellyDance® studio in San Francisco and became a certified teacher and Sister Studio in 2010. She was selected by her master teacher and creator of ATS® Carolena Nericcio and her Tribal Pura International partner Megha Gavin as one of only 10 teachers worldwide to undergo their first ever Advanced Teacher Training and in June 2015 she graduated and qualified as a Tribal Pura International Sister Studio Continuing Education (SSCE) Instructor.
