Getting to Queen's College

It is possible to get group discounts on the trains and some of our participants are able to offer car space – lift sharing, pick ups and drop offs

Planning your route

by car

• Leave M5 at junction 25, take the A358 exit to Taunton/Honiton/Yeovil/Weymouth

• At Blackbrook Roundabout, take the 5th exit on to Toneway/A358

• At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A358

• At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Chritchard Way/A38

  Continue to follow A38/Town centre

• Turn left onto Silver St/A38 and continue

• Slight left onto Trull Rd

  Go through 1 roundabout

• Turn right at The Dr and continue straight

• Turn right arrive Queen's College on left

by Public Transport

​

Trains

travel to Taunton train station then take a taxi for the 2 miles to the College

​

Train tickets are cheaper in off peak hours and purchased online up to 12 weeks in advance.

You can collect your ticket from special machines at the chosen train station but you will need the Booking Code and the credit / debit card used to purchase the tickets.

Some tickets can be sent to your phone if you download the app.

Flights

Local international airports include:
Bristol Airport 

take the Megabus from Bristol Airport to Taunton about 58 minutes, costs about £4.40 at present and you can book in advance, then taxi to Queen's College (we’re checking out taxis  and will add information for pre-booking)

OR

take Bristol Air Bus to Bristol Temple Meads train station – train to Taunton – taxi to venue

London Heathrow Airport 

take Heathrow Express train to London Paddington (15 minutes) – train from London Paddington to Taunton  – taxi to venue

Heathrow Express Tickets are cheaper if purchased online 90 days or 30 days in advance – group discounts available

Flights to London Heathrow will probably be cheaper but trains from London to Taunton can be expensive depending on the time of day and how far in advance you can book.

So check the costs of transport to Taunton as it sometimes works out cheaper to fly to Bristol

Other London Airports – Flights to other London airports may be cheaper but there will be additional overground train or underground tube fares from the airport to central London where you can then take a train from London Paddington

​

If you have any spare time take advantage of visiting Taunton with all amenities (including 'off licences') a good selection of independent and high street shops, distinctive restaurants, cafes and attractions and a wealth of history, all whilst being surrounded by picturesque countryside.
